Clinics
1) Stroke Prevention Clinic
Our goal is to discover the cause of stroke by individual’s constitution and viscera-bowels’ deficiency and excess and ultimately, take care and prevent stroke. We periodically examine the people who have diseases that possibly cause stroke and take care of those causes to prevent stroke. If stroke do occur, we will proceed with early and proper treatment.
2) Hypertension Clinic
Our goal is to maintain blood pressure level and prevent complicating diseases based on medical tests on blood. The treatment methods can be divided into two categories, medicinal therapy and non-medicinal therapy. Non-medicinal therapy involves dietetic treatment, kinesitherapy, relaxation therapy, meditation and abstaining smoking and drinking alcohol. For medicinal therapy, we prescribe medicinal according to location of disease, patient’s constitution, and symptom. We also use acupuncture treatment and antihypertensive drugs along with medicinal therapy. With these various approaches, we can expect patients get better. Also, if person over forty has symptoms above, then we recommend to take periodical tests on blood pressure.
3) Arrhythmia clinic
Arrhythmia is caused by various abnormal activities of electric signal pathway in heart. If the electric signal from sinoatrial node is generated slowly or electric signal is generated in a place other than signal pathway, it may cause either premature beat or tachycardia. In Traditional Korean Medicine, an arrhythmia occurs when in the condition of heart’s qi and blood deficiency, heart deficiency with timidity, phlegm-fluid retention or static blood. These conditions are induced by overexertion, unstable psychological state, drugs, alcohol.
Prospects
Today, the pattern of disease is changing due to increase in human life span. Especially with increase in old-age population, arteriosclerosis, stroke, cerebrovascular dementia and other cardio-cerebrovascular diseases become more common. Also, developed countries proceed with research on undeveloped field of brain and relative issues. Therefore, based on Traditional Korean medicine, we are working hard to research and have clinical trial on the pathology, diagnosis and treatment of theses diseases and disorders.

Asthma Clinic
We treat and study prevention of all kinds of diseases with respiratory distress. We are well-known for effectiveness of our treatment of chronic cough, asthma and particularly bronchial asthma. Also, not only effectiveness of traditional Korean medical treatment but also care on these areas are widely acknowledged.
Among respiratory diseases, bronchial asthma is the most painful one. In the past, patients with asthma were mostly in their old age but now, many young patients with asthma are observed which indicates that asthma’s age of onset is becoming younger.
Concurrent application of acupuncture, electric-acupuncture, herbal-acupuncture and moxibustion depending on the physical attributes, deficiency and excessiveness have proven to be quite effective. In addition, the usage of bronchial inhalants to treat acute cases is being researched.
For traditional Korean medicinal treatment, we follow yin-tonifying, lung moistening, dispelling phlegm and relieving panting protocol. We also use different medicinal for different asthma stage. When symptoms first appear, we use dispelling phlegm and reducing the lung formular and when symptoms become calm, we use boosting qi and tonifying the spleen formular. Before symptoms appear, we use formular that tonifies the kidney to promote qi absorption.
For prevention, avoidance of stimulus that can irritate repiratory tract is required. Also, common cold can cause asthma attack and make asthma symptoms worse therefore, patients need to get treatment as soon as possible.
Hyperhidrosis clinic
When people exercise or are under hot weather, anyone can feel perspiration. However, if perspiration is excess or excess in particular area, it may cause serious problem in daily life.
In traditional Korean medicine, all normal fluids in human body are called fluid and humor. Fluid and humor is essential element and called differently depending on their position in body. They are called sweat on skin, blood in flesh, essence in kidney, saliva in oral cavity and tears in eyes. According to five viscera function and weather condition, fluid and humor regulate yin and yang to maintain healthy body condition, that is, depending on weather condition, fluid and humor can be discharged out of body in the form of either urine or sweat to regulate body’s yin and yang.
In traditional Korean medicine, perspiration functions as not only body temperature regulator but also indicator that shows internal organs’ pathological condition, disease progress and prognosis of human’s life and death. Perspiration is one of traditional Korean medicinal method to treat diseases, but if it is excess or deficient, it is considered pathological state.
Treatment normally includes removal of the root cause. And herbal medicine, acupuncture an moxibustion are highly effective when they are applied based on deficiency and excessiveness of the disorder, harmony of the body’s yin-yang, and physical attributes.
Aroma therapy clinic
Aroma therapy involves usage of balm that is extracted from plants to prevent and treat diseases by massage, bathing and inhalation methods. In oriental medical records, Sanhaegyung¡·says bringing balm can prevent contagious disease and in Joongjanggyung¡·, bringing balm can prevent and treat disease. We apply aroma therapy and various traditional Korean medical treatment to treat common cold, asthma, acute and chronic bronchitis and particularly various acute and chronic respiratory diseases by using inhaler.

Our target diseases are hemiplegia, quadriplegia, crural palsy due to damage on central nerve system, paralysis due to peripheral nerve system and neuromuscular disorder. We focus on diagnosis, treatment and quick cure of these diseases.
2. Facial Disorder Clinic
We have been dealing with patients with facial disorders such as facial palsy, hemifacial spasm, blephalospasm, trigeminal neuralgia, idiopathic facial neuralgia, and ptosis. These disorders come from intensive stress, fatigue, decrease in immunity, etc. Using DITI and brain MRI, differentiation and diagnosis of central type facial nerve palsy and mass lesionis achieved. With guidelines for everyday life accompanied by an explanation for prognosis, acupuncture & moxibustion therapy, dermal needle therapy, taping therapy, aroma therapy and medication therapy are also widely used.
3. Spine¡¤Joint Clinic
We specialize in pains of the neck, low back, limbs, hands and feet which come from problems in bones, muscles, and ligaments of the neck, back, low back, and various joints. Herniation of cervical lumbar disc, cervical lumbar spondylosis, ankylosing spondylitis, spinal stenosis, osteoporosis, frozen shoulder, and sprains are commonly treated diseases in the specialized clinic. Myalgia, MPS(myofascial pain syndrome), and carpal tunnel syndrome are also effectively treated in this clinic. Systemic diagnosis is processed, followed by co-diagnosisboth in Oriental and Western medical clinics, which is then treated with acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, taping therapy, and medication therapy for the smooth cycle of Qi and Blood within the musculoskeletal system. This, in turn, helps the recovery of muscles, tendons, and ligaments, and at the same time, reduces pain and increases the range of movements by strengthening muscular power and attenuating the stress on muscles. Described is how neck pain, shoulder pain, and low back pain are treated clinically.
4. Arthritis Clinic
Rheumatic arthritis is different from other arthritic diseases in that the pain is not limited to certain joints but migrates through out all limbs. It is an autoimmune disease in which swollen joints hurt and joint destruction occur with pain, which then induces joint deformity. Osteoarthritis, occurring usually on the knee joints of over middle-aged people, is a disease where joint cartilage wears out to cause local degenerative changes. The arthritis clinic provides both oriental medical and western medical methods for accurate speculations. X-ray, bone scan, BDM (bone density meter) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) for western medical examinations, and DITI(digital infrared thermal imaging system) followed by medication,aqua-acupuncture, bee- venom acupuncture, and physical therapy for Oriental medical examinations.
5. Bee venom acupuncture clinic
We use bee venom acupuncture to treat various acute and chronic diseases involving pain. Non specialists use bee venom acupuncture directly from bees which may cause serious conditions such as anaphylactic shock. However, we extract bee venom from bees by electric shock and carefully put it into trigger points to avoid dangerous reactions and gain both biochemical effect of bee venom and effect of acupuncture. Moreover, we published paper in SCI journal, ‘Pain’ which showed effectiveness of bee venom acupuncture on arthritis and through this, we earned global recognition of effect of acupuncture.
6. Headache Clinic
We treat tension headache, cluster headache and migraine by acupuncture, cranial acupuncture and medicinal treatment. For more accurate diagnosis, we use traditional Korean medical as well as western methods of diagnosis.
7. Anti-Smoking Clinic
We put acupuncture on both ear alternatively once 3-4 days and take about 3-4 weeks for treatment. We use device to find exact trigger point on ears and put specially designed acupuncture and use bandage to fix the acupuncture. After the treatment, patients lose desire to smoke because of change in taste of smoke and nausea when smoking. The 70% of patients with anti smoking acupuncture treatment actually abstain from smoke and to get best effect, patients’ strong will to abstain from smoking is necessary.
8. Muscular disease clinic
We treat patients with chronic muscular paralysis and myatrophy. Diseases with these symptoms include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, muscle dystrophy, myasthenia gravis and Guillain-Barre syndrome. In traditional Korean medicine, these diseases are categorized as wilting disease. These diseases are generally deficient pattern and related to stomach, spleen and kidney. Therefore, we use medicine which tonifies stomach, spleen and yin and eliminates dampness to promote spleen’s function. It also promotes function of lung’s fluid and humor and liver and kidney’s essence and blood to provide nutrients in muscles and blood vessels. We work hard to take care and treat these diseases through acupuncture and medicinal treatment.

In menopause stage which is characterized by hypofunction of female hormone and distraction of biorhythm, women may have symptom of heat sensation, cold sweating, frequent urination, uterine hemorrhage, amenorrhea, frigidity, pain in lower abdomen, lumbar region and joint. We diagnosis these symptoms overall and use acupuncture, moxibustion and medicinal treatment according to constitution and progress of symptom in order that women may spend a healthy life after the menopause.
2. Osteoporosis clinic
Due to excessive weight loss, stress and lack of exercise, calcium is discharged from the bone of women after menopause which leads to frequent bone fracture. We use cutting-edge devices to measure bone mass density to diagnosis osteoporosis more accurately.
3. Sanhupung(postpartum disorder) clinic
Hard labor, hemorrhage, inadequate postpartum care can cause various mental and physical symptoms, such as somatic pain, cold hypersensitivity, depressive neurosis. We call such symptoms as Sanhupung. Oriental medical care can be effective by supporting hematopoiesis, subduing inflammation and improving circulation.
4. Pelvic pain clinic
we treat pelvic pain which is chronic or cyclic. Especially cyclic pelvic pain, called dysmenorrhea, is a common symptom which most of women suffer from, and the oriental medical treatment is very effective to primary and secondary dysmenorrhea.
5. Cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet and infertility clinic
Cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet is not exactly a disease, but it can cause discomfort in daily life and be a method to evaluate current health and circulation status. Mostly, patients complain of cold hypersensitivity as a subjective symptom, it can be evaluated objective by using diagnosis device like DITI. In Oriental medicine, we explain that this symptom occurs when circulation of the qi(energy) and blood are impaired by various causes, and treat it with acupuncture, moxa, and herbal medicine. We help women who want to be pregnant by maintaining hormone balance and improving their general condition and fertility. Also we protect them from the impact induced by superovulation such as ascites, pleural fluid, hypertrophy of ovary. We also use herbal-acupuncture in gynecological areas to help various symptoms caused by menopause, postpartum disorder, pelvic pain, infertility, uterine myoma and cystoma ovarii.

Medical knowledge of various symptoms
1) Asthma
Bronchial asthma is a disease involving the respiratory system in which the airways occasionally constrict, become inflamed, and are lined with excessive amounts of mucus, often in response to one or more triggers. Sometimes patients with asthma may come across acute condition called asthma attack. However, in some individuals, asthma is characterized by chronic or intermittent respiratory impairment. Some or all of the following symptoms may be present in those with asthma: dyspnea, wheezing, stridor, coughing, a tightness and itching of the chest or an inability for physical exertion. Asthma attack involves shortness of breath (dyspnea) and either wheezing or stridor. some patients present primarily with coughing, and in the late stages of an attack, air motion may be so impaired that no wheezing may be heard. When present the cough may sometimes produce clear sputum. The onset may be sudden, with a sense of constriction in the chest, breathing becomes difficult, and wheezing occurs. In case of these situations, patients need emergency treatment. Children with asthma should avoid stimulants, cold wind and cold food. Also, they have to strengthen respiratory organs and resistance to common cold. In traditional Korean medicine, asthma is called wheezing and dyspnea (哮喘). In case of emergency, we use allopathic treatment and in normal times, our goal is to strengthen resistance to cold wind and cold food and change constitution of patients.
2) Rhinitis
Allergic rhinitis occurs when antigens contact with nasal mucus membrane to provoke immune mechanism. As a result, rhinorrhea, sneezing and nose block may occur. Allergic rhinitis often occurs together with one or more of the following diseases : bronchi asthma, atopic dermatitis and allergic conjunctivitis. During infancy, milk is the most common cause of the disease and during childhood, inhalation of stimulants is the most common cause. Main signs are rhinorrhea with clear mucus, sneezing, itchiness in nose, presence of blood congestion, habit of clearing throat and change in color of infra-orbital (area under eyes) to bluish purple. In case there is symptoms, we use allopathic treatment but if there is no symptom, our goal is to strengthen resistance to cold wind and cold food and change constitution of patients.
3) Congenital Fever
Congenital fever is a common diseases with main symptoms of incrustation and eczema. Infancy eczema commonly starts at second month of birth but individual variation may present. Most infants’ symptoms disappear within two years after the birth and infants can take foods those provoked eczema without any abnormal reaction. In traditional Korean medicine, congenital fever is called either congenital fever (胎熱) or lichen (胎癬) and commonly we use the term congenital fever. This term indicates that infants who have parents with allergic diseases are likely to have congenital fever. Treatment for congenital fever change depending the pattern of the disease. If it is dampness pattern, we use formula that eliminates dampness and cools the heat of the patients. If it is dry pattern, we use formula that tonifies blood and disperses the wind. However, due to dynamic change of symptoms of congenital fever, treatment should also be changing accordingly. If symptoms calm down, we use preventive measure that can strengthen resistance of the patients.
4) Convulsion
Child convulsion, which occurs to about 5% of children, is a symptom that often stuns parents. In childhood, there are many causes those can stimulate convulsion and because brain is in its development stage and it is structurally and functionally immature, convulsion is likely to occur. Causes for child convulsion under 6 month are damage from birth, abnormal development of brain, acute infection on central nerve system and etc.. It is helpful for diagnosis and prognosis to know duration, frequency and condition of convulsion. In traditional Korean medicine, the causes of convulsion are heat, phlegm, fright and wind. We use different medicine accordingly. Also, children with following symptoms are considered to have weak mind and should stay in calm state by avoiding stimulants those bring anxiety : fright, anxiety with out any causes, sleep disorder, noturia, many dreams while asleep, convulsion or crying after sudden awake. If necessary, usage of medication to strengthen mind activity may relieve symptoms but it is recommended that patients consult with traditional Korean medical specialist.
5) Enuresis
If children over five years old cannot control their urination, it is called enuresis. Enuresis is more common to male child and mostly disappears in puberty. Enuresis is also related to family history. If child cannot control urination from his birth, then it is called primary enuresis and if child cannot control urination suddenly, it is called secondary enuresis. Cure for secondary enuresis is easier than primary enuresis. Enuresis rarely become the cause of disease. Treatment varies depending on patients’ situation. Normally, we restrict water intake after dinner and promote urination before sleeping. Also, rather than giving punishment for enuresis, giving praise for not urinating is recommended. In traditional Korean medicine, deficiency in kidney or bladder can cause enuresis but accurate diagnosis and treatment is required.
6) Growth retardation
Growth retardation refers to children whose growth rate is lower than average rate. Infant’s height is normally 50cm at birth and grows about 20~20cm per year during his first two years. From second years to adolescent stage, children grow at the rate of 4~5 cm per year. At puberty stage, male growth rate is about 15~38 cm when he is 11~ 14 years old and female growth rate is about 12~25cm when she is 10~12 years old. About two years after puberty, both male and female stop growing. Growth hormone, insulin, adrenal cortical hormone, sex hormone and thyroid hormone affect growth of body and skeletal system. Therefore treatment of children with growth retardation should be taken before their puberty. Various reasons can cause growth retardation, including improper formation of cartilage innately, improper nutrition intake during fetus stage, disorder in nutrition absorption due to excessive emesis or diarrhea, chronic renal failure, cardiac valvular disease, childhood diabetes, deficiency of vitamin D, genetic inheritance, childhood diabetes, constitutional characteristic, stress from child abuse, parents’ divorce, school violence, sleep disorder, anorexia and frequent respiratory infection. Traditional Korean medical care of children with growth retardation is proved to be effective clinically. The treatment maintains body balance, tonify immune system to prevent diseases, strengthen digestive system to tonify blood, qi and essence, and strengthen muscle and skeletal system.
7) Target symptoms of students clinic
Students tend to become weak physically or mentally due to lack of exercise, sleep and stress from heavy studying. However, although students complain about their body conditions, body examinations may show nothing. Students complain about various symptoms but most often, they complain about neuropsychiatry, respiratory, digestive system. Neuropsychiatry symptoms are decline in memory and attention, headache, heaviness, anxiety, sleep disorder, hyper perspiration, and palpitation. Respiratory system symptoms are frequent coughing, sneezing, sputum, nose block, and tonsillar hypertrophy. Digestive system symptoms include dyspepsia, abdomen cholic, diarrhea, constipation and anorexia.
These symptoms usually come together thus resulting in decline of students’ attention as well as physical condition. Students need adequate exercise, sleep and intake of nutrition. Also, students need regular life style to maintain physical condition and healthy mental state. In traditional Korean medicine, neuropsychiatry, respiratory system, digestive system symptoms are categorized into heart system, lung system and spleen system accordingly. We thereby treat these symptoms differently depending their category. We use tonifying methods to promote attention and memory. When students’ health condition is in low state, we strengthen immune system.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional bowel disorder characterized by mild to severe abdominal pain, discomfort, bloating and alteration of bowel habits. In some cases, the symptoms are relieved by bowel movements. Diarrhea or constipation may predominate, or they may alternate. IBS may begin after an infection or a stressful life event. Other functional or pain disorders and certain psychological conditions are more common in those with IBS. To treat IBS, it is important to first assess the general condition of the body. In our clinic we not only use the traditional korean medical diagnostic methods but also employ scientific diagnostic devices in analyzing the status of the body and the disease. We take a step further by using new forms of herbal medicine and acupuncture, electroacupuncture to relax the irritable bowel and reinforce its function to subdue the persisting symptoms.
(2) Chronic Fatique Syndrome
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is the most common name given to a poorly understood, variably debilitating disorder or disorders of uncertain causation. Symptoms of CFS include widespread muscle and joint pain, cognitive difficulties, chronic, often severe mental and physical exhaustion and other characteristic symptoms in a previously healthy and active person. In this clinic we use korean medical devices to diagnose CFS and use medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion, and negative pressure therapy to rejuvenate the body. By assessing the fatigue scale, we teach health-preserving habits for each individual. If other problems are discovered, we treat them systematically in cooperation with other respective departments.
(3) Halitosis
Halitosis is a term used to describe noticeably unpleasant odors exhaled in breathing whether the smell is from an oral source or not. Halitosis has a significant impact on those who suffer from it, and is estimated to be the 3rd most frequent reason for seeking dental aid, following tooth decay and periodontal disease. In this clinic, first the patient is asked to fill out a questionnaire to check the basic backgrounds of the problem. Then he will go through specialized korean medical diagnostic methods to assess the function of the whole body and the autonomic nerve system. Treatments include gargle-type and other new forms of herbal medicine and acupuncture/moxibustion for localized oral care and total functional care.
(4) Gastrointestinal cancer
In this clinic we complement the conventional treatment options for gastrointestinal cancer(surgery, radiation therapy, antitumor agents) with new forms of herbal medicine which strengthen the immune system to minimize the side effects of the conventional therapy, prevent recurrence, and enhance the quality of life of terminal stage patients..
(5) Food Allergy Clinic
Increase in instant or processed food intake in modern society caused malfunction of immune system such as food allergy and food hypersensitivity. We treat gastrointestinal symptoms such as emesis, diarrhea, cholic as well as urticaria and itch which are the result of various malfunction of immune system. We also use traditional Korean medical methods to prevent recurrence and improve patient’s constitution.

Introduction
Human’s various mind activity is the manifestation of vitality and it is based on human body. Given that, five viscera, which are basic organs for growth and activity, essence, which is physical foundation of body, qi, blood, fluid, humor, nutrient qi and defense qi are in turn closely connected to mind activity. We diagnose damage from seven emotions, nine qi and seven qi according to traditional Korean medical etiology of fire, phelgm, blood deficiency and detriment to essence. Through these diagnosis, we use medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping method and other traditional Korean medical methods. The department of Oriental Neuropsychiatry study various Oriental Medical classical texts and analyze those in modern viewpoint. Furthermore, we study eastern and western neuropsychiatry by the comparative methods. Through these efforts, we conduct various clinical study and develop new methods of treatment.

Introduction
This department was founded in order to provide eastern and western joint medical practices for both inpatients and outpatients. We take charge of Oriental medical ICU and Oriental medical ER, and we help with western medical treatment when managing inpatients and outpatients of hospital of Oriental medicine.
East&West Joint Practice
While some patients have chronic degenerative diseases, others are in the early stage of stroke or are accompanied by complications. Patients with these cases require intensive care, and therefore receive both eastern and western treatment at Oriental medical ICU. Patients can receive treatment and care from both western medical specialists and Oriental medical doctors, as well as western medical treatment(tracheal intubation, percutaneous central venous trophotherapy, tracheostomy, rachicentesis, thoracic ductus intubation, artificial respir ation using medical instruments and etc.) and intensive care(24h electrocardiograph, body positioning and etc.). Thus, compared with those who only receive western treatment at western ICU, patients at Oriental medical ICU can benefit from overall health recovery and decrease in complication death rate by receiving Oriental medicinal and acupuncture treatment.
ICU(Intensive Care Unit), ER(Emergency Room)
If one faints all of a sudden or patients occur in the middle of the night, patients come to Oriental medical ER. When patients are sent to ER, we first understand the state of the patient and decide whether his/her state is urgent and which department he/she should go to. If patients are in fairly good condition, they get first aid and are informed about which department to go. On the other hand, if patients are in critical condition or are expected to carry on with their diseases, they are hospitalized at each medical department or Oriental medical ICU. One may receive emergency examination or tracheal intubation if needed.
Managing Emergencies in Oriental Medical Ward
If emergency occurs while one is being treated in general ward, we quickly carry out CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and tracheal intubation and if the situation calls for it, move him/her to Oriental medical ICU so he/she can be taken care of intensively.
Prospects
1) Researches on efficient model of east-west joint medical practices
Due to dualistic medical system of Korea, patients are forced to choose one of the two medical systems(Oriental medicine/Western medicine) or deal with time and economic loss by choosing both. The department of East-West joint practice thereupon proposes a joint practice model that can reduce time and economic loss of patients and enhance the effectiveness of treatment by assigning both Oriental and western medical doctors to one patient.
2) Researches on Malum Senile through east-west joint medical practices
As society develops and mean life span extends, diseases that are not shown in early ages and are frequent in old population are increasing in frequency, which has led to a high interest in malum senile. This department anticipates a high-quality treatment on malum senile by researching Oriental medicine which has its strong points in chronic degenerative diseases or strengthening immunity and western therapies suitable for various complications.
3) Researches on the treatment of incurable diseases through east-west joint medical practices
Despite great developments in science and medicine, there remain diseases that are yet to be conquered or newly found diseases. Although up-to-date medical technologies such as surgical operations and organ transplants continue to develop, domains that cannot be solved with scientific examination and treatment clearly exist. Meanwhile, it is true that Oriental medicine lacks eye-opening cures for patients with excruciating pain who are in their terminal stage of diseases or for temperamental problems. This department thereupon researches and tries new approaches toward incurable diseases by complementing weaknesses of both Oriental and western medicine and maximizing strong points.
Introduction
Four-consitutional medicine is founded by Dr. Lee Je-ma through his book called Donguisusebowon(Longevity and Life Preservation in Eastern Medicine). In Four-consitutional medicine, human is divided into four distinct characters, greater yang person, greater yin person, lesser yang person and lesser yin person. These four characters have distinct physiology, pathology and treatments.
Four-Consitutional Medicine has special features such as below
Four-Consitutional Medicine is based on four constitutional ontology : Four constitutional ontology starts from the great absolute to yin and yang to four constitution, that is, mind to mind /body to activity/mind/body/matter.
- Four-Consitutional Medicine is based on Confucian background human based mind pathology
- Four-Consitutional Medicine focuses on mind and body together to balance those two.
- Four-Consitutional Medicine is constitutional medicine that is based on body and mind
- Based on healthy qi which is essential to life, Four-Consitutional Medicine founded constitutional symptom medicinal theory : in Four-Consitutional Medicine, diseases are divided into favorable or unfavorable according to healthy qi. Hence, we focus on balancing healthy qi’s movement.
- Four-Consitutional Medicine achieve prevention and life nurturing through constitutional care. Diagnosis of four constitution is analyzed through person’s external shape, mind characteristic, pathological symptom, daily complaint and reaction to constitutional medicinal treatment. Recently, we use three dimensional cranial configuration analysis, body shape constitutional diagnosis system and four constitutional diagnosis questionnaire to determine person’s constitution.
This department puts into clinical practice Korea’s very own Constitutional medicine, which has shown to be effective in treating cerebrovascular diseases, degenerative diseases, and autoimmune diseases. Even with people diagnosed with the same western disease, the constitutional treatment can vary greatly from each constitution to constitution. Current goals of the department include the standardization of consitutional diagnosis, determining the effects of constitutional herbs and food, and finding out the correlation between genetics and Four Constitutional Medicine

Introduction
We deal with diseases that manifest on body surface area. We diagnose patients by yin and yang, cold and heat, interior and exterior and deficient and replete on the basis of yin and yang theory, five-phase theory, viscera and bowels pattern identification and meridian theory. We also use recent diagnosis and treatment methods. In the department of ophthalmology, we deal with myopia, amblyopia, xerophthalmia and opthalmocopia. These disorders are increasing due to early education and greater usage of internet. In the department of otorhinolaryngology, we deal with various allergy. In the Department of Dermatology, we deal with the diseases on skin areas including mucosa, appendages of the skin, atopic dermatitis, and acne. Through research and application in clinic, we contribute to better life quality of modern people.
Clinics
We have four specialized clinics (strabismus clinic, tinnitus and sudden hearing loss clinic, allergic rhinitis clinic and dermatology clinic)
1) Strabismus Clinic
Strabismus is a condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned with each other. It typically involves a lack of coordination between the extraocular muscles that prevents bringing the gaze of each eye to the same point in space. 50 % of patients with strabismus also suffer from amblyopia which involves impediment in sight without structural dysfunction in eyeballs. We use acupuncture and herbal medicine to recover function of extraocular muscles to bring the gaze of each eye to the same point.
2) Tinnitus and Sudden Hearing Loss Clinic
Tinnitus is a condition when a patient hears various sound that is not actually present. If it gets worse, it causes sudden hearing loss. In our clinic. we regard these cause as disharmony of the five viscera and the six entrails (of gall bladder, stomach, small and large intestines, the paunch, the bladder and the bowels) and dysfunction of meridian pathway.) We treat the condition by balancing yin yang state of viscera and bowels through herbal medicine and ear acupuncture
3) Allergic Rhinitis Clinic
Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal passages, usually associated with watery nasal discharge and itching of the nose and eyes. Symptoms include repetitive sneezing; rhinorrhea (runny nose), post-nasal drip, nasal congestion, pruritic (itchy) eyes, ears, nose or throat, and generalized fatigue. In our clinic, we focus on improvement of symptoms and enhancement of immunity through holistic traditional Korean medicine.
4) Dermatology Clinic
Uredo is a condition with various symptoms involving pain and itchiness on skin, which is common disease in dermatology. These symptoms are induced by various causes and we treat symptoms according to their causes.
